resistance is futile

Went to work. Under the bridge. No graffiti.

Came home. Under the bridge. A drawing of a dinosaur woman saying "Hey! Why erase art?"

It was a very detailed drawing. Funny. Non-offensive.

Not even a gang tag.

Went to work the next day. Brought my camera to take a pic of the street art. Under the bridge. No graffiti.

In its place was a big ugly grey square. Does the city really think that big grey squares look better than art?

And, more ridiculous, they are willing to PAY people to paint electrical cabinets, but then they also PAY people to go erase art someone did for FREE. Electrical cabinets usually being the domain of street artists as it is

They really don't want children being exposed to non-solicited, non-sanctioned art. It may warp their fragile little minds and they may end up being creative or something equally horrible instead of being good worker drones that go into the exact same line of work as their mommies and daddies and live almost exact photocopy suburban zombie nightmare make me want to puke my guts out run for your lives.

I'm not really surprised they erased the art. I am surprised at how quickly they got it done. So efficient. So, so efficient.
