----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- and in it doubly so It's weird they say that people abuse substance. “Substance” Like, what makes you exist. “Essential Nature” is the first definition of the word in the Merriam-Webster online dictionary. The second definition is “ultimate reality that underlies all outward manifestations and change.” It's not what people mean when they talk about substance abuse. They mean drugs. And when they say drugs, they mean street meds. But...it is interesting that it's the same word. But it's not the same thing. I've also heard...using substance. As in, “When I was using substances...” It's really sad, but when people stop using substances, they get a lot smaller. I hate to admit this. But it's true. It's really evident in the arts. Especially music. I don't know if they seem smaller when they get sober because they lost so much of themselves or if because (most) drugs take you to a place you can't really reach on your own. ...that is a big part of why people use them in the first place. As if being just yourself isn't good enough. Nothing too deep here. Just a thought or two. 10:40 PM - Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
