Went to Sals recently and got:
Two still sealed rolls of Laura Ashley Wallpaper border (for when we do up the kitchen)
Linen Kitchen towel (for putting over rising bread, tortillas, etc)
5 X 7 wooden photo frame
Small wall mirror
8 X 10 frame (for collage)
Set of 5 Wolfgang puck stainless steel mixing bowls with lids
Full roll of ribbon (black, with dancing skeletons—for my jean jacket)
Very large area rug (rainbow shag-- for my art studio)
Hat box (for my socks, not hats)
Small velour throw pillow
for a total of $33.10.
The day before, we bought a bottle of rye vodka for the EXACT same amount of money.
As if the universe were trying to show us something.
Look! What all you can get for the same amount of money.
One afternoon of fuzzy headedness followed by blissful dreamless sleep
OR
lots of neat crap that you will use for years and years.
In reality, we shouldn't have gone to either the thrift store OR the liquor store.
But it gives me something to think about.
